ARCHIBALD CRICHTON

FATAL COLLIERY ACCIDENT

On Monday, Archibald Crichton, collier, residing at Crawick Mill, was at work at Bankhead pit, where a portion of the roof, nearly ten feet square by 2½ thick, fell upon him. Two other men were at work a short distance and heard the fall. On Crichton being extricated, life was extinct, the pick which he had been working with had been driven into his brain.
